webu):

Under consideration of these aspects, and after a long time evaluation
and discussion about the possibilities and options we have finally
decided to use a modern UNIX kernel as the operating system core for
the A\BOX. We believe that this is the best choice available, as this
solution provides a most flexible, reliable and prooven way to supply
a powerful OS with an Amiga like, but updated and enhanced
look-and-feel. As a matter of fact, the Amiga Exec has always been
quite similar to UNIX in some of it's basic functionalities, although
it was missing some of it's major features like Memory Protection or
Virtual Memory. On the other hand, in earlier UNIX kernels the support
for e.g. shared libraries and reloadable devices was missing, what
made these UNIX versions large, resource-hungry and sluggish - the
reason why UNIX was considered to be the dinosaur of the operating
systems quite often. Merging the best of both worlds and using the
latest software development techniques like object-oriented system
add-ons will lead to a powerful operating system fullfilling all the
   requirements of future computing.

toho sa bojim aj ja -- v tej licencii sa bohuzial hovori LEN o tom, ze
mozu pouzit amiga OS vo svojich produktoch....
Som zvedavy, ci v tej zmluve je stanovene, ze nemozu robit zmeny Amiga OS.

btw. toto ma po case rozosmialo (tiez z phase5 webu):

During late summer 1997, we plan to start alpha and beta releases of

- kedy??! :))) no phase5, no...

the A\BOX OS for developers running on our PowerUp accelerators. With
this solution, developers can start to prepare their existing software
for the A\BOX. The A\BOX alpha and beta OS release will be available
for a small fee for the CD and possible documentation cost to all
developers; free update support will be available via our FTP site.
We also will release hardware functionalities of the A\BOX custom chip
CAIPIRINHA as a spin-off on a graphic card add-on for the CYBERSTORM
PPC later this year (unfortunately not for free); this graphic card
will have a stand-alone version of our DLRP Display List Risc
Processor which can read random image data from the main memory via
DMA and write it to a WRAM-based frame buffer. With this board and the

- no som zvedavy, ci tam DLRP naozaj bude... A okrem toho takuto funkciu
(IMHO ide vlastne o selfmastering 'zbernice' do pamete na PPCcyberstorme)
-- selfmastering by mal urcite vediet chipset nVIDIA RIVA a podporuje to
kazda novsia specifikacia PCI -- s tym, ze PCI je pomalsia, ale princip je
ten isty)

A toto je text tej licencie:

                              Phase 5 Licensee

   Langen/Oberursel, Germany, March 9th, 1998 - AMIGA International, Inc.
and phase 5 digital products today announced that they have signed a
license agreement for the AMIGA OS 3.1 which will allow phase 5 to use
AMIGA OS 3.1 in future products.
"We are glad to see that with phase 5 digital products another
important developer and manufacturer in the AMIGA market shows his
commitment towards the AMIGA OS 3.1", says Petro Tyschtschenko of
AMIGA International, Inc. "As phase 5 has led the development of
PowerPC products for the AMIGA, this is an important agreement which
will give a momentum to the future development of AMIGA and
AMIGA-compatible systems, an expectation which is also supported by
the cooperation of the different licensees of our AMIGA technology",
   he adds.
The license agreement will allow phase 5 digital products to use AMIGA
OS 3.1 in future products and thus expand the PowerUP product line by
stand-alone systems; as a logical step, the company has immediately
announced the development of such an independent computer system. "We
are very glad that we have been able to negotiate an agreement which
allows us to spend significant efforts into this new project, and we
appreciate the support of AMIGA International, Inc. and especially
Petro Tyschtschenko for our project", said Wolf Dietrich, General
Manager of phase 5 digital products."This partnership shows the
committment to the AMIGA and is an important signal for the future of
   the system.
