NEWS FLASH, an ICOA Exclusive:

(Leaked to ICOA... the formal public announcement is scheduled for next
week.)

Ukiah, CA, April 10th at 8:30 PDT:  REBOL Technologies, headed by former
Amiga Architect Carl Sassenrath, has secured substantial funding from
Avalon Investments, headed by Rick Snyder, former President of Gateway
2000.

"Our tanks are fueled, and the countdown has started.  Time to make
computing what it should have been all along...." commented Sassenrath.
"The challenge now is to assemble a top-notch team of engineers and
marketers to keep our rocket on tarket."

REBOL, the Relative Expression-Based Object Language, provides a
standard method for the control and exchange of information and
programs.  It is unlike anything currently in existence, providing
powerful distributed semantics with a simple, pure syntax.  The language
is useful for communicating and controlling operations between software
processes on the same machine or across the world, and could lead to a
new approach in how applications are structured and created.

I posted this directly to ICOA because I thought it might be encouraging
news for some of you.  This is the only place I've posted this
announcement... but, I hope to update the REBOL Web site
(http://WWW.REBOL.COM) and post a formal news release next week.

This REBOL company is going to be a tough climb, but also a lot of fun.
I'm going to need help to make it work -- but, fortunately it can now be
a "day job" for some of you, not just an after-work hobby.

If you know of anyone who has strong C programming experience in
interpreters, networks, GUIs, or datatypes, or anyone with a background
in marketing/PR or technical writing, please ask them to contact me
soon.

Of course, this offer is for rebols only.... not for those who think
Microsoft makes cool software.  We're going to hang out in the
mountains, climb some redwoods, shoot at Windows-98 CD-ROMS, write
dangerously-wonderful code, make and drink serious homebrew, and have
one heck of a world-altering kind of time.  Interested rebols should
send their best words to jobs@rebol.com (but, text only, no evil-empire
encoded formats -- afterall, it's a tiny REBOL bot that sniffs email to
see if it's really alive, and besides, I don't like supporting Gates
just because he can't figure out how to write an ms-word storage format
that is forward compatible with future versions -- that guy is such a
scammer).
