Tohleto ke mne zabloudilo:
Camarillo, California, October 9, 1997 -- Total Impact, once again on
the
cutting edge of acceleration, today announced the PowerUP 750, its new
line
of processor upgrade boards for PCI Macintosh and Macintosh compatible
systems.
Designed around the new PowerPC 750 (also known as the G3 or Arthur)
with
its innovative "backside cache", the PowerUP 750 delivers unprecedented
performance to the Macintosh marketplace.
The speed and performance of the processor is greatly enhanced by its
backside cache technology, which allows for much faster communication
rates, up to 275MHz, between the processor and the cache by using its
own
independent, high-speed, cache bus.
The PowerPC 750, will initially be available in speeds of 250, 266 and
275MHz with 512k and 1Mb of backside operating at speeds up to that of
the
processor. Prices start at $1300 for a 250MHz PowerUP 750 with 512k of
backside cache operating at 125MHz. The 275MHz version with 1Mb of
backside
cache operating at 275MHz will have a list price of $2800. Education and
OEM discounts are available.
"These processor upgrade boards breath new life into the Macintosh
market
and will allow existing users a powerful upgrade path," said Brad
Nizdil,
president of Total Impact. "The performance that we are seeing is much
better then we expected, especially with the 275MHz system with 1 meg of
backside cache, unbelievable."
The PowerUP 750 series are designed to work in the PowerMac 7300, 7500,
7600, 8500, 8600, 9500, 9600 and many different models from Power
Computing
and UMAX Computing Corp.
